TOWER TESTING

We have an in-house state-of-the-art tower testing facility that uses a fully automatic Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition (SCADA) software technology. The facility can test towers with a maximum height of 85 m (280 ft.), maximum base width of 30 m (100 ft.) and multiple loading conditions up to 63 numbers. The facility is equipped to test self-supporting towers up to 1200 kV, guyed towers up to 765 kV, chainette towers up to 400 kV and transmission monopoles up to 500 kV. The facility is also equipped to erect a simultaneous second tower, ready for testing, thus saving a lot of time and increasing the productivity of the testing station.

So far, we have designed and tested more than 400 towers (including 150 towers for the export market) of up to 800 kV for our clients across Canada, Mexico, Malaysia, Italy, Botswana, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Thailand, USA, and India.

Our Partners

In order to have an integrated manufacturing process of aluminium and aluminium alloy conductors, the company set up a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at Silvassa in 2008. Since then, we have supplied over 128,000 km of conductors across the country and the globe. Today, we are expanding our reach in order to cater to the requirements of global players and provide them a product complying with all testing and quality requirements.

Our facility is well equipped with the latest technology to manufacture EC Grade aluminium/aluminium alloy wire rods and aluminium/aluminium alloy conductors (with or without steel reinforcement) up to 765 kV/800 kV. Our conductor manufacturing facility at Silvassa has a manufacturing capacity of 50,000 metric tonnes per annum (MTPA).

Over the year we have set up internal processes to cater to various requirements of customers and to have standardised procedures and methodology. Streamlining our workflow, we strictly adhere to our predefined processes to maintain high product quality standards as per customer requirements. Our manufacturing facility presently has the following features:

  • Properzi Continuous Casting and Rolling Mill along with melting and holding furnaces and online solutionizing furnace to provide superior metal treatment to get the best quality aluminium/alloy wire rods
  • Monoblock Stands to produce wire rods through high reduction process
  • Wire drawing machines to convert wire rod coils into wires of reduced diameter as per finished conductor parameters
  • Lantern carriages are specially designed as per luminaire combinations and are normally made from ERW tubes that completely enclose the luminaire connecting wires. Specially designed mounting is made for the junction box and luminaire CG boxes.
  • High-Speed Skip Stranding machines for high productivity of distribution conductors
  • Rigid Multistrand machines for production of conductors up to 61 strands as per customer specifications

Our Product

  • EC Grade Aluminium Wire Rods
  • Aluminium Alloy Wire Rods (6201 Alloy in M&T4 temper – online solutionized)
  • AAC (All Aluminium Conductor)
  • AAAC (All Aluminium Alloy Conductor)
  • ACSR/TW Conductor .i.e. Trapezoidal
  • ACSR (Aluminium Conductor Steel Reinforced)
  • ACSR/AS (Aluminium Conductor Aluminium Clad Steel Reinforced)
  • AACSR (Aluminium Alloy Conductors Steel Reinforced) for river crossing and earthing applications
  • AACSR/AS (Aluminium Alloy Conductor Aluminium Clad Steel Reinforced)

  • Electrical Engineering: Single line diagram, general layout and relevant sections, control and protection (SCADA), cables calculation, equipment analysis and selection
  • Mechanical Engineering: Gantries and support design structures
  • Civil Engineering: Equipment foundations and cable trenches and building

The Design Facility uses the latest software like PLS CADD, PLS Pole, PLS Tower, STAAD Pro, Auto CAD, BOCAD and i-Tower to design lattice towers and monopoles. PLS-CADD is used for tower spotting, while Method-4 is used to optimise quantity estimation. The design drawing data are automatically transferred to CNC machines at the factory.

Our design team has the competency to design towers compliant to all international standards. Some of their latest achievements include successfully designing extra high river crossing towers as well as towers up to 1200 kV. The core expertise lies in conducting voltage upgrade studies through structural analysis of towers/poles in existing lines as well as strengthening for higher voltages and re-conducting.

We have successfully designed and tested towers for all geographic and climatic conditions ranging from deserts, hilly terrains, river crossings, valleys, swamps, snow, forests, urban lands, and villages.
